Want to be a Long Distance Stulla? Here are 6 Foods to do just that…
A lot of guys’ egos are tied to their sexual prowess, the better we think we are at sex, the better we feel about ourselves. While this is a universal phenomenon, in Jamaica, every man wants to hear… ‘the boy good, mi nah lie.’ There are myriads of dancehall music that have perpetuated this; songs like Movado’s Long Distance Stulla or Dexta Dap’s Call Mi, we are constantly reminded that as men we must be able to perform sexually.
But what about those of us who need a little help? Just asking for a friend (really I am). Are there foods that can support a nutritious diet and healthy boost to a man’s sex life?
We did the research for you. Here are 6 foods that can get you the props you want in bed.
1. Watermelon
Is watermelon the new substitute for viagra? Let me break it down for you. So watermelon is a natural source of citrulline. Citrulline is an amino acid that may support better erections.
Preliminary research Trusted Source states that our bodies convert citrulline to the amino acid called arginine. Then arginine is converted to nitric oxide. The nitric oxide opens the blood vessels wider, increasing blood flow to the penis thus improving erections.
Ahmm, that’s a lot of science right there. Just eat your melons and watch the magic happen.
2. Coffee
Mi nuh drink Coffee tea mango time! Well after this you may want to stop saying that.
A study conducted between 2001-2004 with over 3700 men found that men who sipped between 170 and 375 milligrams of coffee, which is about 2-3 cups each day, had lower rates of erectile dysfunction.
So there you have it, caffeine can be dubbed the ‘penis food’ because it relaxes the smooth muscles of the penis, paving the way for blood to fill it up.
3. Spicy Foods
Men that use the hottest sauce bring the most heat to the bed. Think I am lying, there are studies to prove it.
Researchers in France found that men who ate more spicy foods had higher levels of testosterone. For those of you who don’t know, high levels of testosterone are linked to a higher sex drive.
Hand me a bottle of milk because I am gonna bite into some pepper.
4. Nuts! Nuts! And more nuts!
Because I said nuts, I know what y’all are thinking, but get your minds out of the gutter.
Snacking on a handful of nuts each day can boost your sex life and help you to buss’ a nut. Cashews and almonds are full of zinc to get your blood flowing. So be sure to pick up your peanuts, walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and flax seeds.
In 2019, 83 men were asked to add nuts to their diets, the study showed that these men reported improvement in their sexual function. The boost was attributed to unsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants.
5. Dark Chocolate
I am trying to keep my calories low, but if dark chocolate helps, I gotta eat it. Dark chocolate is packed with flavanols, which make it easier for blood to flow through the body. An ounce of dark chocolate has 155 calories and nine grams of fat, so try not to eat too much.
Chocolate also helps your body release hormones such as serotonin and dopamine to boost your mood and sex drive.
6. Salmon
I have always struggled with the pronunciation of this word.
Salmon is considered one of the best foods to help you get and maintain an erection because it is rich in Vitamin D. Most of us get our vitamin D from the sun, but salmon can also help you with this. Vitamin D has been shown to help prevent endothelial dysfunction, which is when your arteries, blood vessels, and organs aren’t able to properly circulate blood.
Remember, it is important for the blood to get flowing, so that way you can get going. But don’t forget to #Dweetsafe.
